Samsung Gear S2 Review

For Android users, the Samsung Gear S2 remains a solid option with its smart round design and innovative rotating bezel. In the past, the biggest complaint by professional users is that the Gear-branded wearable was ugly and bulky. Has this changed, and what do sports users feel about this device.

Pros / What Customers Like:

  • Sports users found the new circular display a step up compared to previous models in the series.
  • Consumers have only good things to say about the rotating bezel that is easy to navigate through the different functions.
  • Furthermore, professionals found the three versions available fantastic. They could now choose a standard, sporty, or classier model to wear throughout the day.
  • Everyone loves the new AMOLED display as the colors rich and vivid, and you can view the screen from any angle. Furthermore, the ambient mode is exceptional and continues to display the time, and with a flip of the wrist, you can look at it.
  • The battery life according to executives easily makes it through the day with the always-on mode. But you do have the option of turning it off if needed.
  • Health and fitness users found reading the information displayed, such as weather, current heart rate, step count, and more visible and readable.
  • For those concerned about their wellness consumers found the fitness features fantastic. With the Samsung S Health app, they could track their movement throughout the day and receive constant readings on their heart rate.

Cons / What Customers Don't Like:

  • Even while the display is super bright, there is no auto-brightness setting and users complained they had to keep setting it manually.
  • Another big complaint mentioned by most athletes is the Tizen operating system that has not changed. The problem is that it does lack apps you can use with it.
  • Joggers did not find the fitness watch to be helpful, as it does not have GPS tracking.

Verdict:

The Gear S2 offers you a limited Tizen operating system but remains a good smartwatch. The build and display are fantastic, but does not come close to devices built with Android Wear. If you need a stylish watch to wear all day and keep track of your activity and heart rate during the day the wearable comes highly recommended.
