Nixon Mission Review

The Nixon Mission is another Android Wear Smartwatch. The design of the watch is similar to runner watches, but according to surfers and skiers, it has a durable design. The fitness wearables designed for die-hard ski and surfers and the Mission app is useful. However, what are the other highlights of this activity and fitness tracker. Let’s see what our athletes found super great and irritating with this device.

Pros / What Customers Like:

  • The most important feature surfers and hikers found helpful is the GPS connection and hardly ever found in Android smartwatches.
  • What most outdoor enthusiasts love is the rugged look and the fact it has a certification of up to 100m of water. To add to the durability one surfer mentioned it has a Cerakote coating and very hard to protect the watch from water and corrosion.
  • According to different users, the device connects fast with any Android device through the designated app. Further, the Wi-Fi connection allows them to receive notifications directly to the device.
  • For surfers and skiers being able to add their location allows them to view the conditions of the water before heading out into the sea. This includes the temperature and wind speed.
  • Water sports users found the Trace Surf app helpful while the Trace Snow is outstanding according to many skiing enthusiasts.
  • Skiers found the ski app great as it shows their top speed and the altitude while surfers could also see their top speed and distance traveled.

Cons / What Customers Don't Like:

  • Some athletes found the watch uncomfortable to wear and had to remove it at times.
  • One professional surfer mentioned you can transfer the data to the app, but is limited.
  • The battery performance is not one of the best according to most users and lasts up to a day with the GPS on for 30 minutes and with the GPS off all the time up to 4-hours.

Verdict:

The Nixon Mission has a design that only surfers and skiers can use. The watch is as tough-as-nails and you can use it with different third-party apps. If you are serious about snowboarding and surfing this watch has your name written all over it.
