Garmin Fenix 2 and Misfit Flash are the couple of the most popular smartwatches. With heartbeat and activity trackers, both of these smartwatches serve the basic tracking purpose for the health conscious crowd. But if we go through the detailed features, we realise they are meant for a totally different set of users. With a difference in features, these smartwatches come with a huge difference in the price as well. Read on to find out who is the winner among the two.
Misfit Flash comes in a splash proof design. It comes in a round disc with LED display that displays progress and time.It is just splash proof and not waterproof. You cannot wear it while you’re swimming or playing water sports. It will survive rain or a splash of water basically. Garmin Fenix 2 isn’t waterproof either but the brand doesn’t claim to be splash proof as well. It is surprising that Garmin Fenix 2 has a swim profile yet it is not waterproof. It has a LED display.
Both Garmin Fenix 2 and Misfit Flash track activities, distance and calories. Garmin Fenix 2 does not track steps. Misfit Flash, on the other hand, tracks steps as well as sleep. Garmin Fenix 2 does not track sleep. The biggest plus point of Misfit Flash is that it has a replaceable battery that lasts for 182 days! You don’t have to be worried about charging it every now and then for at least 6 months. Once the battery exhausts, you can easily replace it. Garmin Fenix 2 comes with a rechargeable battery which lasts for 35 days, which is not bad either. The best feature about Garmin Fenix 2 that makes it beat Misfit flash is the GPS feature. It helps you track your activities live. It also has an inbuilt compass. Both of these smartwatches connect to Android and iOS phones.
Garmin Fenix 2 can sync with Mac but cannot connect with Windows phones. While Misfit flash is not capable of syncing with Mac while syncs with Windows phones flawlessly. Talking of smart phone connectivity, Garmin Fenix 2 has caller ID feature and also displays call or text notifications from your phone. Both of these phones have bluetooth connectivity and connects to your smartphone smoothly. Despite having a sleep tracker, Misfit Flash does not have an alarm clock or stopwatch. Both of these trackers do not track heart beat which is an essential feature that smartwatches should have. Misfit Flash is priced at $49 while Garmin Fenix 2 is priced at $199.
Both of these smartwatches lack some essential features. For example both Misfit and Garmin Fenix 2 are not capable of tracking heart rate and are not waterproof. There is a huge price difference between the two but either of them don’t serve as a complete health tracking smartwatch. Misfit Flash seems to be for people who want basic calorie and sleep tracking, while Garmin Fenix 2, with its GPS feature, is for people who love running and want to track the calories and distance. Both are available on Amazon. Check them out and buy whichever of these two fits your purpose!
