Garmin Vivosport Review

The Garmin Vivosport received loads of praises from runners and athletes as a credible fitness band with heart rate sensor, GPS, and altimeter. Many found the price a bit steep, but how worthy is it.

Pros / What Customers Like:

  • The majority of runners found the Vivosport slimmer in design compared to its predecessor the Vivosport HR+. They love the new design and the fact that the button below the screen is gone.
  • Another highlight for all consumers is the color screen and makes watch faces look interesting.
  • One more feature that most joggers found helpful is the fact that the display barely uses power. The reason for this is it uses ambient light, as the sun gets brighter.
  • Most runners found the flick of the wrist great to activate the screen.
  • Consumers love the fact that you can use it as a basic fitness tracker to track your steps, sleep, and auto-log runs.
  • Professional athletes found the heart rate tracking accurate with GPS.
  • Most users found the different sports modes from cycling, walking, and hiking to gym great.
  • Joggers and runners found the battery, use of up to 3.5 days with mixed-use reasonable and easy to charge.
  • For a lower power device, most runners found the device packed with features from receiving calls, notifications to text while running.

Cons / What Customers Don't Like:

  • Swimmers presented the biggest complaint, as the band has no modes for swimming.
  • Most users found the watch to phone connection less reliable, and you cannot read long emails and messages. Furthermore, you cannot modify the notifications received.
  • Another bummer is the fact that it does not support 3rd –party apps only Garmin ones and a big no-no for most athletes.

Verdict:

This is not one of the most attractive fitness trackers and not as smart as other brands available. Nor is it cheap, but is a small device convenient to use if you are a runner in need of a GPS watch. The Vivosport offers you reliable data to help improve your training for the next marathon.
