Garmin Vivoactive 3 Review

For all-day wear and fitness tracking, the Garmin Vivoactive 3 does not come cheap and packed with features to keep you moving. The big question is how well is this device received by the public when it comes to using it as a watch and fitness tracker. Let us find out.

Pros / What Customers Like:

  • Many sports consumers found the wearable a breath of fresh air compared to the other wearable from Garmin. They love the fact that it looks like a traditional watch and is not too heavy to wear all day.
  • Another standout most consumers found outstanding is the 50-meter water rating and great to wear outdoors, in a pool or the shower. Swimmers found the watch tracks their swimming exercises accurately.
  • Other sports enthusiasts found the one button use to access the display menu and sport profile menus great. Even the sideswipe function is easy to use.
  • One user mentioned the backlit display is great when used in direct sunlight and visible enough to see the information on the screen.
  • The features most professional sports users raved about is the compass, accelerometer, thermometer and GPS/GLONASS as a hiker found this very helpful when outdoors on the mountain.
  • The design for reading the heart rate is accurate and most users found this feature helpful.
  • Other standout features sports trainers found helpful is the Garmin LiveTrack, auto-tracking, daily activity stats, weather, smartphone notifications, heart-rate graph, listen to music and more.

Cons / What Customers Don't Like:

  • According to Garmin, the battery should last up to 7-days with a single charge and when used in GPS mode up to 13-hours. However, one consumer found it only lasts up to 36-hours at the most after updating the firmware.

Verdict:

The Garmin Vivoactive 3 has some great new features such as Garmin Pay and might even become one of the best fitness trackers available today. It does have the disappointing battery use, but all the perfect features make it worth buying.
