Asus ZenWatch 3 Review

The Asus ZenWatch 3 has been around for a while and been updated to Android Wear 2.0. According to professional sports users, the drop in price makes it worth buying. How true is this let us see what others had to say about this fitness wearable?

Pros / What Customers Like:

  • When they introduced the Aus ZenWatch 3 it was pricier than its predecessor was, however, with the price drop we have seen more athletes buy the watch.
  • Users only have great things to say about the display as the text pops out with the colors.
  • Hikers found the covering over the display excellent when accidentally rubbing it against the branches. Here the Gorilla Glass has really done its work in protecting the device from scratches.
  • Although most consumers do not like the huge lugs, the chronograph buttons you can customize to launch apps and perform different tasks. The top button is automatically set to the ZenFit track to use with your workout.
  • Athletes who only did workouts to keep fit found the tracking of their workouts to be accurate. These included tracking of running, walking, and pushups.
  • Treadmill runners found the synchronizing with Google Play Music workout out without their phone great.
  • With the latest Android update, consumers are more than pleased with the wrist gestures, allowing them to scroll through their notifications with the flick of their wrist.

Cons / What Customers Don't Like:

  • Some users found the display a bit bright and using the light-sensing setting dims the screen too much. However, they did not find it a challenge viewing the display in bright light.
  • Most runners do not like the chunky lugs as it makes the included straps stiff on their wrist and makes charging the device difficult as you cannot lay it down flat.
  • Other comments noticed are the lack of GPS and a heart rate monitor. Most fitness buffs would have liked to see this feature.

Verdict:

If you love Android Wear, the Asus Zen Watch 3 needs to be on top of the list. The display is outstanding and it has an excellent battery life. The only problem is if you need more fitness tracking features this one offers you only the basics.
